Ragnar Larsen Dies in Rauma Fall Accident

Ragnar Larsen, 64, died in a fall accident in Isterdalen, Rauma, on February 15, 2026. The Møre og Romsdal police district confirmed the incident in a press release on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, after notifying next of kin.

Larsen, originally from Fredrikstad, had resided in Åndalsnes in recent years. According to a statement released by his family, “Ragnar has always been fond of nature and the outdoors, and went on walks every day. He called nature the best medicine.”

Larsen embarked on a mountain hike on Sunday and did not return. A large-scale search operation, including a rescue helicopter, was launched. The helicopter crew discovered a deceased individual shortly after, later identified as Larsen.

The police have released the name of the deceased with the consent of the family.
