A 54-year-old British man, Paul Doyle, has pleaded guilty to a multitude of criminal charges stemming from an incident where a vehicle was deliberately driven into a crowd of Liverpool Football Club fans celebrating their Premier League title victory in may. Doyle initially pleaded not guilty to the charges in September, but reversed his stance today as the prosecution prepared to present its case. He entered guilty pleas to dangerous driving, affray, 17 counts of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, nine counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and three counts of wounding with intent. These charges relate to 29 victims, ranging in age from six months to 77 years old.

the incident unfolded on May 26th, as jubilant Liverpool supporters gathered on Water Street in Liverpool city center following the team’s victory parade. At approximately 6:00 PM, Doyle drove his Ford Galaxy Titanium into the crowds, causing widespread panic and injury. He was instantly arrested at the scene and afterward charged.

Among the most profoundly affected victims was teddy Eveson, a baby who was thrown approximately 15 feet from his pram by the impact of the vehicle.Doyle specifically admitted to attempting to cause grievous bodily harm to the infant.
