Scott D’Amore, who revived Maple Leaf Pro in 2024, stated that the move is designed to showcase the promotion’s talent pool and ongoing storylines to a broader international audience. The integration into the AEW digital lineup follows a trend of independent and international promotions utilizing the platform to reach markets outside of their primary broadcast territories.
Broadcast Schedule and Content
In its home market of Canada, "MLP Mayhem" is scheduled to debut on TSN on July 15. The program will occupy a late-night slot, airing at 12:00 a.m. ET (9:00 p.m. PT).
The roster featured on the program includes several established figures from the professional wrestling industry, including:
- Josh Alexander: A former TNA World Champion.
- Stu Grayson: A former AEW star.
- Gisele Shaw: The reigning MLP Canadian Women’s Champion and former TNA Knockout.
Strategic Expansion of the AEW Streaming Platform
The addition of Maple Leaf Pro is part of a broader strategy by AEW to aggregate diverse wrestling content. Since the platform’s initial expansion, it has incorporated programming from several other promotions, including CMLL, Warrior Wrestling, and Limitless.
AEW CEO Tony Khan noted that the inclusion of the promotion serves to provide fans with access to a wider variety of global content. By hosting "MLP Mayhem," the platform continues to position itself as a central hub for independent wrestling organizations looking to scale their distribution efforts without the need for traditional terrestrial television deals in every international territory.
This collaboration underscores the current industry trend of cross-promotional digital distribution, where established platforms provide the technical framework for newer or regional promotions to reach global audiences simultaneously.
