Marathon: Bungie’s New Extraction Shooter Launches March 5
Bungie, the creators of Halo and Destiny, are set to release their new team-based extraction shooter, Marathon, on March 5, 2026. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Steam and Xbox Series X|S, with full cross-play and cross-save functionality.
What is Marathon?
Marathon is a PvPvE survival extraction FPS set in the derelict colony of Tau Ceti IV. Players take on the role of Runners, scavenging for valuables while facing hostile security forces and rival players. The game emphasizes tense exploration, prompt-paced combat, and the risk of losing accumulated gear. Players can operate solo or as a crew, scavenging for weapons, gear, and upgrades.
