Violent Soho Reunion Hinted at by Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus

Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus has suggested that Australian rock band Violent Soho may be reuniting. The announcement came during Hoppus’s Fahrenheit-182 spoken-word tour at the Sydney Opera House on Saturday, March 21, 2026, as reported by Yahoo Entertainment and Blunt Mag.

Surprise Performance and Announcement

Hoppus brought Violent Soho frontman Luke Boerdam and guitarist James Tidswell onstage for an acoustic performance of blink-182’s “Dammit.” Following the performance, Hoppus told the audience, “I wasn’t joking by the way, they really are getting back together,” according to Blunt Mag. This marked the first time Boerdam and Tidswell had performed together since Violent Soho’s final indicate on September 10, 2022, at Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane.

No Official Confirmation

As of March 22, 2026, neither Violent Soho nor Hoppus have issued an official public statement confirming the reunion. Tone Deaf reports that Boerdam and Tidswell did not address the crowd following their performance with Hoppus.

Timing and ‘WACO’ Anniversary

The timing of the announcement coincides with the tenth anniversary of Violent Soho’s critically acclaimed fourth album, ‘WACO,’ released in March 2016. Wall of Sound notes that a limited edition vinyl pressing of ‘WACO’ was recently announced. The album, which debuted at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, featured successful singles like “Viceroy,” “Like Soda,” and “Blanket.”

Violent Soho’s History

Formed in 2004, Violent Soho released their debut album in 2008, later re-recording and re-releasing it as their official debut in 2010. They achieved mainstream success with ‘Hungry Ghost’ in 2013 and further solidified their position with ‘WACO’ in 2016. Their fourth album, ‘Everything Is A-OK,’ arrived in 2020. The band entered an indefinite hiatus in 2022 after nearly 20 years together.
