Mark Zuckerberg Expands Real Estate Portfolio with Florida Waterfront Purchase
With a net worth of $222 billion, Mark Zuckerberg added a $170 million waterfront mansion on Florida’s Indian Creek Island to his extensive national real estate holdings. Miami-Dade County property records list the owner of the nine-bedroom property as a land trust, situated near the in-progress home of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

Zuckerberg’s latest acquisition places him among a growing contingent of tech executives securing luxury properties in Florida. The purchase comes as California voters face a proposed ballot initiative that would introduce a one-time 5% tax on individuals worth at least $1 billion, retroactive to January 1, 2026.
Indian Creek Island Real Estate Dynamics
The 300-acre, man-made island near Miami and Miami Beach features just 41 lots and roughly 84 residents, the Wall Street Journal reported. Home prices on the secure enclave start at approximately $60 million. Vacant land commands similar figures, with a comparable undeveloped lot selling for $105 million in 2025.
The property at 2 Indian Creek Island Road occupies the western side of the island, which features larger 80,000-square-foot lots compared to the east side’s 50,000-square-foot properties, according to Mitchell Duchon, a Miami Beach-based real estate agent with the Corcoran Group. Residents on the western side benefit from open views of Biscayne Bay and better sunset access. Jeff Bezos owns two lots on the western side, having purchased an initial $68 million home in 2023 and a neighboring $79 million property later that year to create a single compound.
Indian Creek Island functions as an independent municipality featuring its own local government and private police force patrolling via air, water, and sky. Access remains strictly controlled through a single gated bridge. The interior primarily consists of an 18-hole golf course and the Indian Creek Country Club, which requires a $500,000 initiation fee.
National Property Holdings Across the United States
Zuckerberg maintains a diverse portfolio of luxury properties across multiple states, alongside recent international acquisitions such as a 440-acre estate and 196-year-old castle in County Waterford, Ireland, purchased for 51.17 million euros, or about $57.1 million. His primary residential base remains in Palo Alto, California, where the New York Times reports he owns 11 properties in the Crescent Park neighborhood, totaling $110 million in acquisitions over more than a decade.
In Hawaii, Zuckerberg owns Koʻolau Ranch, a $300 million property on the island of Kauai. After acquiring roughly 1,000 additional acres, the property spans more than 2,300 acres and includes a 5,000-square-foot underground shelter, according to Architectural Digest and Wired reports. In Nevada and California, Zuckerberg formed a Lake Tahoe compound by purchasing the Carousel Estate and the historic Brushwood Estate for a combined $59 million. Additionally, Politico reported he acquired a $23 million, 15,000-square-foot mansion in Washington, D.C.’s Woodland-Normanstone neighborhood.
