Nestlé and Carrefour Partner to Cultivate Healthier Eating Habits in Children

Carrefour and Nestlé have joined forces in a strategic partnership aimed at promoting healthier and more sustainable dietary habits among children. The collaboration centers around the ‘Adopt a Fruit, Adopt a Vegetable’ initiative, designed to encourage increased consumption of fruits and vegetables by families. This initiative builds upon the broader commitments of both companies – Nestlé for Healthier Kids and Carrefour Act for Food – launched globally in 2018.

Initiative Details

The ‘Adopt a Fruit, Adopt a Vegetable’ initiative provides parents and children with free fruits and vegetables, coupled with recipe inspiration and cooking guidance. It also emphasizes healthier product options, including those with whole grains, reduced sugar and salt content, and organic and plant-based alternatives. The program initially launched across all Carrefour hypermarkets in France and is slated for expansion into Argentina, Italy, and other key markets for both companies.

Company Statements

Mark Schneider, CEO of Nestlé, emphasized the company’s long-standing commitment to child development. “Our commitment to the healthy development of children goes back to the founding of Nestlé,” Schneider stated. “In May 2018, we took our commitment to the next level with the global launch of Nestlé for Healthier Kids. We believe we have an important role to play in helping parents promote healthier habits.” Nestlé launched over 1,300 food and beverage products specifically designed to meet children’s nutritional needs in 2019 alone. Schneider added that the partnership with Carrefour will increase awareness of the importance of varied and healthy meals, particularly those including fruits and vegetables, and provide helpful tools for parents.

Broader Initiatives

The partnership falls under the umbrella of Nestlé’s Nestlé for Healthier Kids and Carrefour’s Act for Food initiatives. Carrefour has already taken steps to improve its product offerings, including reviewing recipes for 1,500 Carrefour-branded products and transitioning its Carrefour Baby range to 100% organic, removing artificial flavors and additives, and reducing sugar and salt content.

Focus on Trade Marketing and Category Management

Nestlé is currently seeking a Marketing Manager for Retail Brands to join its team within the Nestlé Nutrition division. This role will focus on infant formula brands Guigoz and Nidal, developing categories within Carrefour, Auchan, Intermarché, and hard discount retailers. The position offers a comprehensive view of category management, encompassing trade marketing project management, budget preparation, performance analysis, and collaboration with sales teams.

Internship Details

The internship, starting in July 2026, is a full-time position based in Issy-les-Moulineaux, France, with a duration of six months. Interns will receive a monthly stipend of €1,200 to €1,500 gross, depending on their education level. Nestlé offers a flexible work environment, including the possibility of remote work up to two days per week, and prioritizes employee development through training, AI integration, and the Nestlé Needs YOUth employment program. The company is a certified Happy Trainees and Engagement Jeunes employer.

Recruitment Process

The recruitment process involves an initial interview with the recruitment team, followed by an interview with the future manager, Pascal Steiner, Global Head of Medical Nutrition (LinkedIn Profile), if the candidate is selected. Nestlé is committed to being a handi-accueillante employer and encourages applicants to disclose any disabilities to ensure they receive appropriate accommodations.
