Marta Grigale Announces Novel Album and Riga Concert
Latvian singer and songwriter Marta Grigale has released her third studio album, Wrong Woman (According to the Rule Book), and will celebrate with a concert at Spīķeru koncertzāle in Riga on September 25th. The album’s release follows a period of international focus for Grigale, who has seen increasing recognition for her music abroad.
New Album and Single “Rule Book”
Grigale’s latest album, Wrong Woman (According to the Rule Book), was released alongside the single “Rule Book.” The song was created in collaboration with British artist Ruby Duff, producer Jim Lawton, and mixing/mastering engineer Christopher Harris. Grigale describes the album as a reflection on societal norms, stating, “There are unwritten norms and rules in society…sometimes it’s worth looking at these rules with a critical eye and asking yourself if you really agree with them. I hope that the irony and energy of ‘Rule Book’ will give listeners the confidence to live by their own rules.”
International Recognition
Grigale’s music has been gaining traction internationally. “BBC Radio 1” premiered her song “Villain of the Day” in the “Future Pop” program, with host Jody Bryant expressing his enthusiasm, stating, “I just love him!” her song “Cool” was featured in the US series Love Island Games. She has also received praise from Wonderland Magazine, which highlighted her “catchy melodies and skillful lyrics.” Grigale has begun working with US music synchronization agencies and British music distribution and management companies and was nominated for a GAMMA award in the “Music Export of the Year” category.
