ÖIS Football Welcomes Goalkeeper Mathias Nilsson on a Two-Year Deal
Örgryte IS (ÖIS) Football has announced teh return of goalkeeper Mathias Nilsson for the upcoming season. The agreement will see the 24-year-old shot-stopper with the club for two years, bolstering their goalkeeping options Fotbollplay.
Nilsson, born in 1999, previously played for ÖIS during the 2023 season while on loan from malmö FF. He was a key player during that period, starting in all 30 matches of the Superettan league and featuring in both qualifying matches against Nordic United, helping the team maintain its position in the second tier of Swedish football.
Following his initial stint with ÖIS, Nilsson gained experience with Finnish side IF Gnistan and returned to the Superettan to play for Gefle IF and Trelleborgs FF.
Pontus Farnerud, Sports Manager of ÖIS Football, stated: “It feels good to welcome Mathias back to ÖIS. With Mathias, we have a goalkeeper setup that we feel very secure with, where everyone has drive and has the potential to continue developing.“
