Mavericks Waive Tyus Jones, Sign Ryan Nembhard to Two-Year Deal

Nembhard’s Rise with the Mavericks

Nembhard, who went undrafted in 2025, impressed during his time with a two-way contract, averaging 9.9 points, 6.1 assists and 44.4% shooting from the three-point line in 17 starts according to ESPN. He appeared in a total of 38 games for the Mavericks. The Associated Press notes that Nembhard is the first undrafted rookie to record at least 25 points and 10 assists without a turnover, achieving this feat with 28 points and 10 assists in a 131-121 victory over the Denver Nuggets on December 1st.

Financial Flexibility for Dallas

This move provides the Mavericks with financial flexibility and a lottery pick this summer, allowing them options regarding Nembhard’s long-term future with the team as reported by ESPN.
