Even though it has a long history in Lion Country, this McD outlet closed. Many loyal customers regret the final story of this outlet which is more than 30 years old.
The McDonald’s (McD) outlet at Tampines Mall, Singapore, will soon close after operating for more than 30 years. This information was spread through an announcement posted at the restaurant and shared by the I Love Tampines community.
Launch Stomp.sg (5/2), McDonald’s Tampines Mall will officially stop operating on March 9 2026, with the last day of service March 8, 20.00 local time. This outlet has been serving customers for a long time and is one of the well-known fast food restaurants in the Tampines Mall area.

In a statement provided to the media, a McDonald’s spokesperson expressed his appreciation to customers who have supported the outlet for more than 3 decades.
McDonald’s said that they were honored to be able to serve various generations of customers and be part of memorable moments for the local community.
“It has been an honor to serve generations of customers at Tampines Mall for more than 30 years, and to be part of so many everyday moments and memories,” said a McDonald’s spokesperson.
Even though the outlet at Tampines Mall will be closed, McDonald’s said that customers can still visit other outlets around the Tampines area.
Several alternative locations are said to be in areas that are still easily accessible, so that customers still have the choice to enjoy the McDonald’s menu. These include McD at Tampines Bus Interchange and Our Tampines Hub.
The news of this closure triggered various responses from netizens. A number of comments stated that this outlet had long been part of their routine when visiting Tampines Mall.
“Wow, that’s impossible. Entering (Tampines Mall) from the MRT is the same as passing McD. The experience there will never be the same without McD,” said one netizen.
There are also those who highlight the location of the restaurant which is considered strategic and is often a place to eat for families and mall visitors.
McDonald’s Tampines Mall is not the only large outlet to close its operations at the shopping center. Previously, another large shop at Tampines Mall was also known to have stopped operating after decades of serving customers.
