The global aesthetic medicine market is undergoing dramatic changes: male interest in plastic surgery has almost doubled over the past decade. The latest statistics were presented at the annual IMCAS congress in Paris.

According to a report by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the number of surgical procedures among men increased by 95% between 2018 and 2024. This trend is most pronounced in the Middle East and Latin America. Millennials and Generation Z have become the most active consumers of these services.

The market for non-surgical procedures – injections, laser treatments and peels – shows even more impressive growth, increasing by 116%. In comparison, the female segment grew by 59% in surgery and by 55% in cosmetology during the same period.

“This trend, which is particularly noticeable in the Middle East and Latin America, reflects a profound transformation of social norms and a growing acceptance of cosmetic procedures among men,” according to a market analysis presented at the IMCAS conference. “Generation Z and Millennials are beginning to embrace aesthetic medicine much earlier than previous generations.”

Despite the growth, men are still in the minority, accounting for only 16% of the total market for cosmetology services.

Experts explain this with the democratization of the industry. “We have truly entered the era of aesthetic consumption, whereas 10 or 15 years ago it was considered a privilege of the elite,” explained IMCAS economic expert Laurent Bron.

Geographically, the United States remains the leading consumer of these services, accounting for approximately 45% of the global plastic surgery market and 56% of global Botox demand by 2025.
