PALM DESERT, Calif. – The University of san Francisco men’s basketball team (5-1) is set for two more early-season opportunities this weekend as the Dons will battle Colorado (5-0) on Thursday morning to begin play in the Acrisure Holiday Classic.

* In its last time on the hardwood, San Francisco pushed its win streak to four straight games as the Dons outlasted a second half push from Minnesota to take down the Golden Gophers, 77-65, at Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D on Saturday, Nov. 22.Despite missing Tuesday’s game (Nov. 18), ryan Beasley bounced back in a big way for the green and gold, finishing with a team-high 24 points on 8-of-13 from the field, 4-of-6 from beyond the arc, and a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line. Beasley also added four assists and two rebounds in a team-high 37 minutes. Notably, Beasley’s four made triples tied a career-high, while Mookie Cook set new career-highs with four made three pointers and also four assists. San Francisco also limited Minnesota to 46 field goal attempts, the lowest by a USF opponent so far this season.
* The winner of Thursday’s contest between San Francisco and Colorado (Game 11) will play the winner of Nevada and Washington (Game 12) on Friday, Nov. 28, at 1:30 pm on TruTV. The loser of Game 11 will also play the loser of Game 12,with that game scheduled for 11:00 am on TruTV.
* Thursday will mark the second of four neutral site games for USF in its nonconference slate this season. The Dons were prosperous in their first chance, taking down Minnesota, with two more opportunities to come this weekend. Looking ahead, San Francisco will travel to Tupelo, Miss., to battle mississippi State at Cadence Bank Arena on Dec. 7.
* San Francisco and Colorado both have received strong contributions from their benches so far, with the Dons ranking 15th nationally in bench points per game (39.17) and the Buffaloes close behind, sitting at 24th nationally (38.00).
* USF has shot the ball well from distance thus far.
