No. 14 Badgers Set for Lake Morey Invite in Vermont
The University of Wisconsin men’s rowing team will travel to Fairlee, Vermont, to compete in the Lake Morey Invite on Saturday and Sunday, April 25 and 26, 2026. Ranked No. 14 nationally, the Badgers will send three boats to the regatta on Lake Morey.

According to the team’s announcement, Wisconsin will face strong competition from several nationally ranked programs. The field includes No. 7 Dartmouth, No. 17 Columbia, and No. 19 Georgetown, along with No. 9 Syracuse and No. 12 Boston University.
The Lake Morey Invite serves as the team’s final major competition before the Eastern Sprints championship on May 17. Coach Beau Hoopman noted that the squad has had approximately 2.5 weeks of productive training since their last race at the Cal Classic, where they competed against No. 5 Stanford and No. 2 California.
Despite falling short to those top-tier opponents on the first day of the Cal Classic, the Badgers rebounded with strong performances against No. 18 Temple and No. 23 Oregon State on the second day. In those races, Wisconsin’s varsity eight finished first with a time of 5:43.8, followed by Temple at 5:50.8. The second varsity eight placed second behind California’s 4V boat at 5:55.4, and the third varsity eight finished first ahead of Oregon State’s 3V crew with a time of 6:04.3.
At the 2025 Lake Morey Invite, Wisconsin claimed victory in the Jablonic Cup race against Boston University, with the varsity eight finishing in 5:44.8. The Badgers will look to build on that success as they prepare for the championship phase of their season.
