Mexico Secures First Historic Victory at Mister International 2026

Andrés Briseño became the first Mexican contestant to win the Mister International title, capturing the crown at the 18th annual pageant. Pageant organizers reported that the international finals took place on Saturday, September 26, at MCC Hall Bangkapi in Bangkok, Thailand, where 52 competitors vied for the title.

Finalists and Global Placements in Bangkok

Following Briseño’s victory, the judging panel named Ignacio Monclus of Spain as the first runner-up. Indonesia’s Gede Aiswarya Kartika secured the second runner-up position, while Turkey’s Doğukan Navdar, Vietnam’s Nguyen Vu Linh, and Sri Lanka’s Ravindu Wijesooriya rounded out the top five as third, fourth, and fifth runners-up respectively.

The competition’s top ten also featured delegates from Nigeria, the Philippines, Korea, and Thailand. Further contestants extending into the top twenty represented Australia, Canada, Iraq, the Netherlands, Northern Cyprus, Panama, Puerto Rico, South Africa, the United States, and Venezuela. Briseño succeeded the previous titleholder, Kirk Bondad of the Philippines.

Briseño links national identity to human welfare

During the final stage of competition, the top three finalists faced a question asking them to choose between their home country’s interests and the good of humanity. Briseño answered by tying his national identity directly to human welfare. “I deeply love my country, Mexico,” the winner stated. “It represents my family, culture, and traditions. But behind any nationality is first and foremost a person striving for the good for all society.”

Standing 185 centimeters tall, Briseño grew up in the coastal city of Mazatlán in the state of Sinaloa. In his hometown, he participates in beach cleanups, sea turtle conservation projects, and assistance programs for sick children.
