Undefeated Miami (Ohio) RedHawks Face Bowling Green in Nationally Televised Matchup
OXFORD, OH – February 19, 2026 – No. 22 Miami (Ohio) (26-0, 13-0 Mid-American Conference), the last remaining undefeated team in college basketball, will face Bowling Green (16-11, 7-7) in a nationally televised game on Friday at Millett Hall in Oxford, Ohio. The RedHawks are looking to continue their historic season, while the Falcons aim to upset the nation’s top-ranked offense.
RedHawks Maintain Composure Through Tight Games
Coach Travis Steele attributes Miami’s success to the team’s ability to remain level-headed in high-pressure situations. “Our group of boys just kind of stays flatline,” Steele said. “We don’t get too high or too low. We’re unflappable. I think that’s what makes our group really good, especially in tight moments.”
Miami has been tied or trailed in the second half of six of their last eight games, demonstrating their resilience. Recent close victories include overtime wins against Buffalo and Kent State and a hard-fought win at Massachusetts on Tuesday.
Recent Performance at Massachusetts
In Tuesday’s game against UMass, Isaiah Placide gave the Minutemen a 62-60 lead with 9:24 remaining, and the score was tied at 68 with 7:01 left. However, Miami shot 13 of 22 (59.1%) in the second half to secure the win. Peter Suder led the RedHawks with 23 points, while Luke Skaljac contributed 16 points and seven assists.
Miami’s offense currently ranks first in the nation in scoring (92.3 points per game) and field-goal shooting (53.5%).
Bowling Green Looks to Rebound
Bowling Green is coming off a 78-71 loss to Kent State on Tuesday, ending a two-game winning streak. Javontae Campbell scored 22 points with four assists, and Sam Towns recorded 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Falcons.
Bowling Green previously faced Miami on December 30, losing 93-83 despite a significant second-half rally, overcoming a 54-28 halftime deficit. Sam Towns scored 24 points in that first matchup against the RedHawks.
Falcons’ Shooting Consistency a Concern
Coach Todd Simon has noted inconsistent shooting from his team, particularly from three-point range. Since January 31, Bowling Green has experienced wide fluctuations in three-point shooting percentages, ranging from shooting over 50% to as low as 4 of 24 from beyond the arc.
Key Players to Watch
For Miami, Peter Suder is averaging 14.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, and a team-best 4.2 assists. Luke Skaljac is also a key contributor, averaging 16 points and 7 assists in the recent game against UMass. For Bowling Green, Sam Towns leads the team in scoring (12.1 points) and rebounding (6.6 rebounds per game).
