Kingston, ON – Dr. Michael Singer, a respected physician and devoted family man, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026, at the age of 79. His passing has been met with deep sadness by his family, colleagues and the Kingston community.

A Life Dedicated to Medicine and Family

Born and raised with a deep curiosity, Dr. Singer dedicated his life to the practice of medicine and to his family. He was known for his compassionate care for patients and his continued pursuit of medical knowledge, even after retiring from Queen’s University. He authored dozens of articles and continued writing books on medical topics throughout his retirement.

Family Was at the Heart of Everything

Dr. Singer is lovingly remembered by his wife, Bunny; their children Lorne (Emebet), Elise (Mike), and Deborah (Stephane); and his grandchildren Adey, Kidan, Liam, Rachel, Quinn, and Tristan. Family was paramount to Dr. Singer, and he prioritized spending time with his loved ones. He made a point of weekly visits with his Kingston grandchildren and monthly trips to Toronto and London to be with family. He often worked late into the night to ensure he could be present for the important moments in their lives.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Singer was remembered as a deeply empathetic and engaging individual. He had a genuine interest in the lives of those around him – from his children’s friends and neighbours to crossing guards and patients.
