The company announced its plans on February 23, 2026, highlighting a focus on principal investment (PI) and leveraging its strong financial standing.

Record Performance and Financial Strength

Mirae Asset Life Insurance reported a record pre-tax profit of 198.7 billion won on a consolidated basis for the previous year, demonstrating its profitability. The company also maintained a Korea Insurance Capital Standard (K-ICS) ratio of 177.9%, signaling robust financial soundness .

Growth Across Key Insurance Segments

The insurer experienced significant growth in its sales divisions. Monthly initial premiums for health insurance increased by 97% year-on-year, expanding its presence in the protection-type insurance market. Mirae Asset Life Insurance retained the top position in the industry for both initial and cumulative premiums in the variable insurance segment .

Strategic Shift Towards Principal Investment

This success is attributed to conservative actuarial assumptions, systematic asset-liability management (ALM) and adherence to the principles of IFRS17. Building on this foundation, the company intends to pursue innovation in asset management, with a particular emphasis on principal investment (PI).
