Milan Fashion Week AW26: Key Highlights and Designer Debuts

Milan Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2026, which began on February 25th, 2026, is showcasing a blend of established Italian luxury brands and significant creative shifts. The week features debuts from new creative directors at Fendi, Gucci, and Marni, alongside events celebrating milestones for brands like Moncler.

Designer Debuts Mark a New Era

This season marks a turning point for several iconic Italian fashion houses. Maria Grazia Chiuri is making her debut as creative director of Fendi, returning to the brand where she began her career in the accessories department in 1989, after her departure from Dior in March 2025. She succeeds Silvia Venturini Fendi, who took over after Kim Jones’s exit in October 2024.

At Gucci, Demna, formerly of Balenciaga, is presenting his first runway display following a short film introduction to his tenure. Expect a spectacle reminiscent of his previous shows at Balenciaga, known for their dramatic and unconventional staging.

Marni is also welcoming a new leader, with Belgian designer Meryll Rogge taking over from Francesco Risso, showcasing her collection on Thursday.

Moncler Celebrates 70 Years with Grand Spectacle

Moncler kicked off Milan Fashion Week with a large-scale celebration of its 70th anniversary. The event, held in Piazza del Duomo, featured a cast of 1,952 performers – dancers, musicians, and models – representing the brand’s founding year. Approximately 18,000 people attended despite inclement weather.

The performance centered around the brand’s iconic Maya jacket, styled on the extensive cast, creating a visually striking display of unison and movement.

Other Key Brands and Events

Alongside these debuts and celebrations, Milan Fashion Week will feature presentations from established Italian brands including Giorgio Armani, Max Mara, Bottega Veneta, and Prada. The week also includes numerous showroom presentations, launches, and parties.

Diesel’s Immersive Experience

Diesel presented its Autumn/Winter 2026 collection within an immersive installation featuring approximately 50,000 pieces of the brand’s archive, offering a retrospective look at its history.
