Missouri Woman Receives Probation for Psilocybin Mushroom Cultivation

Montreal,MO – February 8,2026 – Lucie L.Stephens of montreal, Missouri, pleaded guilty to cultivating psilocybin mushrooms and possessing controlled substances. She received a five-year sentence of supervised probation for both counts, to be served concurrently.

Stephens entered her plea on February 4, 2026, facing charges of Manufacture of a controlled Substance and Possession of a Controlled substance. The case originated from a January 5, 2026, inquiry by the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force.

Law enforcement officials acted on information indicating Stephens was growing psilocybin mushrooms at her residence. A subsequent search revealed approximately 450 grams of psilocybin mushrooms.Investigators also discovered Alprazolam, Xanax, and OxyContin pills at the property.

The Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force continues to address illegal drug activity in the region. This case highlights the legal consequences associated with the cultivation and possession of controlled substances,including psilocybin mushrooms,which remain illegal under Missouri state law.
