Moroccan-Bahraini Joint Committee Advances Strategic Partnership
Rabat, Morocco – February 16, 2026 – The sixth session of the Moroccan-Bahraini Joint Committee convened today in Laayoune, Morocco, signaling a continued commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding strategic partnerships between the two nations. The meeting was co-chaired by Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif Al-Zayani.
Digital Platform to Track Bilateral Cooperation
During the session, Minister Bourita announced the launch of a fresh digital information platform designed to monitor various aspects of cooperation between Morocco and Bahrain. This platform will serve as a centralized resource for all bilateral agreements, partnerships, and commitments. According to Bourita, the platform will facilitate the tracking of project implementation, identify responsible entities for each program, and enable periodic and accurate assessments of progress.
Boosting Trade Exchange
Both countries agreed to work towards doubling the volume of trade exchange over the next two years. A clear tracking mechanism will be implemented to ensure this goal is achieved within the specified timeframe.
Shared Regional and International Views
Minister Bourita emphasized that Moroccan-Bahraini relations are built on a long-term strategic vision and aligned perspectives on key regional and international issues, notably the Palestinian issue and support for a two-state solution. He highlighted the strong coordination between the two countries within international forums as a testament to their trust-based partnership.
Bahrain’s Commitment to Enhanced Cooperation
Bahraini Foreign Minister Al-Zayani affirmed his country’s dedication to exploring all avenues for enhancing and diversifying cooperation with Morocco across various fields, ultimately serving the common interests of both nations.
