Details of the Collision
Investigators from the LVMPD Collision Investigation Section determined that a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling westbound on Owens Avenue. As the driver approached the intersection at 23rd Street, the vehicle began a left turn. Simultaneously, a 2005 Honda motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Owens Avenue.
The two vehicles collided within the intersection. Police report that the impact caused the rider to be ejected from the motorcycle. Emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene shortly after the crash, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the site. The driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe remained at the scene and cooperated with officers during the initial investigation.
