Mumford & Sons Surprise SNL Audience with Hozier and Aaron Dessner Performance

Mumford & Sons delivered a memorable performance on Saturday Night Live on February 28, 2026, welcoming Hozier and producer Aaron Dessner as surprise guests. The British trio, fresh off the top 10 debut of their album Prizefighter, enhanced their set with these notable collaborations.

“Rubber Band Man” Featuring Hozier and Aaron Dessner

The band kicked off their performance with “Rubber Band Man,” featuring Aaron Dessner on electric guitar. Hozier then joined them onstage to reprise his vocal contribution from the studio version of the song. This marked Hozier’s first major public appearance since concluding his “Unreal Unearth” tour in October 2025. SPIN reports the performance was a highlight of the night.

Collaboration with Sierra Ferrell on “Here”

For their second song, Mumford & Sons were joined by both Aaron Dessner and vocalist Sierra Ferrell for a rendition of “Here.” Interestingly, the Prizefighter version of this song features Chris Stapleton, who was performing a separate concert approximately two hours away in Uncasville, Connecticut, on the same night. SNL Cameo and Upcoming Tour

Beyond their musical performances, Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, and Ted Dwane of Mumford & Sons also made a cameo appearance in an SNL sketch centered around a workplace dance, performing a snippet of “Unchained Melody.”

The SNL appearance followed a “hastily organized secret demonstrate” at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on Tuesday, where they performed an unamplified set backed by a four-piece string section and additional singers. SPIN

Mumford & Sons are set to embark on an extensive world tour beginning on April 24 in Melbourne. SPIN
