From Hip-Hop Roots to Pop Evolution
Founded in 2009 by Marats Ogļezņevs after the hip-hop duo Device dissolved, Musiqq grew to include lead singer Emīls Balceris, [nra.lv] reported. Early singles like Climate control
and Abracadabra
brought the group mainstream recognition and a victory at Muzikālā Banka, leading to their 2010 debut album, This is just music., [nra.lv] noted. Over the subsequent decade and a half, the group released several studio projects, including Another music (2014), Warm heart (2015), 10 (2019), and Artwork (2024), shifting from electronic beats to a fuller pop sound supported by a live band, [nra.lv] reported.
