Nebraska Sweeps Maryland for Forty-Sixth Regular-Season Win
The No. 1 Nebraska volleyball team extended its regular-season winning streak to 46 matches by defeating Maryland 3-0 on Saturday night at the XFINITY Center. The Huskers secured set scores of 25-13, 25-20, and 25-15 in front of a women’s volleyball attendance record crowd of 15,127.
The victory keeps Nebraska undefeated at 15-0 overall and 4-0 in the Big Ten. The program has now won 22 road and neutral-site matches, tying for 12th all-time in the NCAA and marking the longest active streak nationally since 2011.
Andi Jackson Ties Program Record With Six Aces
Andi Jackson drove the Nebraska offense and service game, totaling 12 kills on .455 hitting alongside five blocks, four digs, and six aces. Her six aces in a three-set match tie a rally-scoring era program record, matching previous marks set by Annika Albrecht in 2015, Michelle Lynch in 2004, and Anna Schrad in 2002.
Jackson’s serving runs created separation in multiple sets. In the opening frame, she spearheaded a 6-0 run from the service line, while Laney Choboy capped four straight points with an ace to push the lead to 20-10. Later in the third set, Jackson delivered three aces and a kill during a six-point surge that turned a 7-5 deficit into an 11-7 advantage.
Maryland Pushes Early Before Huskers Rally
Maryland managed to hold leads in every set before Nebraska mounted decisive comebacks. The Terrapins jumped ahead 6-5 in the first set, 14-12 in the second set, and 7-5 in the third set after starting the match up 4-0.
The Huskers answered each challenge. Nebraska closed the second set on a 13-6 run—featuring a 7-0 burst to reach 23-16—and eventually restricted Maryland to just three kills in the final set. For the match, Nebraska out-hit Maryland .278 to .117 and held advantages in kills (32-23), digs (34-31), and blocks (8-3).
Huskers Set Attendance Record at XFINITY Center
Teraya Sigler contributed eight kills on .429 hitting with three digs and two aces for the Huskers. Ryan Hunter and Harper Murray each added six kills, Campbell Flynn registered 35 assists, eight digs, four blocks, and two kills, and Olivia Mauch led the back row with 10 digs. Skyler Pierce secured the sweep with her third kill of the night.
The crowd of 15,127 marked a record attendance for women’s volleyball at the XFINITY Center. This event represents the 25th venue attendance record Nebraska has been part of since 2023, and the fifth during the current season. Maryland dropped to 11-4 overall and 1-3 in conference play, while Nebraska extended its all-time series lead against the Terrapins to 22-1.
