Ned LeDoux’s Milestone Year: Duet with Dan Seals, Film Debut, and Red Rocks Performance
Wyoming singer-songwriter Ned LeDoux is experiencing a career-defining year, marked by a posthumous duet with the late Dan Seals, acting roles in two films, and a highly anticipated performance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
A Harmonious Collaboration: “God Must Be a Cowboy”
Ned LeDoux joined the late Dan Seals on a reimagined version of “God Must Be A Cowboy,” released on March 13, 2026. The Dan Seals Estate and Melody Place Records announced the release, a song originally featured on Seals’ 1983 album, Rebel Heart. The song was also previously recorded by Ned’s father, Chris LeDoux, on his 1984 album, Melodies and Memories.
LeDoux described the opportunity as a surprise, occurring while he was already recording tracks for his album, Safe Haven. Cowboy State Daily reported LeDoux’s sentiment that the timing was “perfect,” noting the song’s thematic resonance with the LeDoux family and Seals’ legendary status.
The duet was created by blending LeDoux’s vocals with Seals’ original recording, resulting in a sound that gives the impression of the two artists performing together. The Music Universe highlighted the song’s enduring appeal and its celebration of the natural world.
Expanding Horizons: Film Debut and Red Rocks
In addition to the musical collaboration, LeDoux made his acting debut in 2026 with roles in the films Outriding the Devil and Buffalo Daze, both available on Amazon. He is also set to perform at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, opening for fellow Wyoming artist Ian Munsick. This marks LeDoux’s first performance at the iconic venue, a milestone he equates to playing at the Grand Ole Opry and Cheyenne Frontier Days.
Munsick emphasized the importance of the LeDoux name to Western culture and country music, expressing his excitement about having Ned join him at Red Rocks.
Continuing the Legacy: “Garage Sessions” and Future Projects
LeDoux is also engaging with fans through “Garage Sessions,” a video series exploring his father’s catalog and his own operate. Volume I focused on one song from each of Chris LeDoux’s 36 albums, while Volume II will include some of Ned’s “deep cuts” and stories behind his own recordings.
LeDoux approaches his career with gratitude and openness to future opportunities, embracing the unpredictable nature of the journey.
