Published on 08/12/2025 at 3:35 p.m.

twenty-one years after her disappearance in Finistère, the case of Khadidja Bengrine is being reopened. New investigations were launched on Thursday, June 13, 2024, in Port-Launay, downstream of Châteaulin.

Khadidja Bengrine, then 17 years old, disappeared on the night of December 7 to 8, 2004, after leaving a party in châteaulin. Despite numerous searches and investigations, the young woman was never found. The case was classified as a “disappearance” then as a “murder” in 2006, but remained unsolved.

The new investigations, carried out by the Brest police station with the support of the criminal investigation section, aim to “re-examine the case with fresh eyes” and to “exploit new technical possibilities,” according to the Quimper prosecutor’s office.

Specifically, searches were conducted in the area of Port-Launay, focusing on a specific location identified during previous investigations. These searches involved ground-penetrating radar and specialized teams.

The reopening of the case comes after a request from the victim’s family, who have never given up hope of finding out what happened to Khadidja. The investigators are appealing to anyone who may have information about the disappearance to come forward.
