President Marcos Opens NLEX-C5 Northlink Segment With Free Toll Until Year-End
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. inaugurated the two-kilometer NLEX-C5 Northlink Segment 8.2 Section 1A on Thursday, announcing that toll fees on the new route will be waived until the end of the year. The newly opened link connects Mindanao Avenue in Valenzuela City to the Quirino Highway in Novaliches, Quezon City, providing an alternative route designed to ease holiday congestion.
Libre ang pagdaan dito ngayon until end of the year,
the President said, formally opening the project this morning which connects the Mindanao Avenue Toll Plaza to the Quirino Highway in Novaliches, Quezon City.
Travel Time Reductions And Undas Exodus Preparation
The opening of the two-kilometer segment aims to alleviate traffic bottlenecks ahead of the Undas exodus. President Marcos noted that navigating the surface road previously required 40 to 45 minutes of driving through heavy traffic, whereas the new direct link cuts travel time down to just five minutes. The schedule for the project was accelerated specifically to accommodate motorists visiting local cemeteries such as Holy Cross during the upcoming holiday.
