Newly Discovered Virus Linked to Colorectal Cancer

A previously undetected virus, found residing within a common gut bacterium, is increasingly being linked to an elevated risk of colorectal cancer. Researchers at the University of Southern Denmark and Odense University Hospital have identified this virus, a type of bacteriophage, and their findings suggest it could play a significant role in the development of the disease.

The Paradox of Bacteroides fragilis

Bacteroides fragilis is a bacterium frequently found in the human gut, present in both healthy individuals and those with colorectal cancer.
