Nezumi Unveils Voiture VM2 Automatic Column-Wheel Chronograph

Stockholm-based design house Nezumi has updated its cornerstone chronograph with an automatic column-wheel movement while trimming the case thickness to a svelte 12.9mm. The new Nezumi Voiture VM2 contrasts sharply with the brand’s previous iterations, trading the 2015 mecha-quartz setup and the 2021 manual-wind Sellita option for a modern automatic calibre. It arrives on the market priced at €850 excluding VAT.

Case Thickness Drops to 12.9mm

The stainless steel case maintains a 40mm diameter and a 47mm lug-to-lug measurement, matching both previous models. The thickness drops to 12.9mm, which includes a double-domed sapphire crystal featuring an internal anti-reflective coating. A fixed aluminum bezel with a printed tachymetre scale measures 39mm in diameter, while the case itself carries a brushed finish complemented by dynamic lyre lugs. The watch retains a 50-meter water resistance rating and features a push-pull crown flanked by brushed chronograph pushers, alongside a solid steel case back displaying a stylized Nezumi logo.

Voiture VM2 Launches in Two Dial Configurations

Nezumi launches the Voiture VM2 in two distinct dial configurations. The first model pairs a black-and-grey backdrop with orange accents around the periphery, the 30-minute chronograph register, and the chronograph hands. The second model adopts an inverted monochrome layout featuring white sub-dials against black and grey sections with black sub-dial hands. Both versions utilize applied indices and brushed steel hands filled with Swiss Super-LumiNova. The countersunk sub-registers follow a 3-6-9 layout, placing chronograph hours at 9 o’clock, chronograph minutes at 3 o’clock, and running seconds at 6 o’clock.

Peacock SL-4801 Movement Mechanics

Powering the watch is the Peacock SL-4801, an automatic 12-hour chronograph movement equipped with a column-wheel and vertical clutch. The calibre operates at 28,800 bph, utilizes 44 jewels, features uni-directional winding, and delivers a 55-hour power reserve. This movement allows the brand to offer an automatic column-wheel chronograph in a wearable form factor that undercuts the thickness of many time-only automatic watches from major Swiss manufacturers.

Three Strap Options Include Leather, Canvas or Steel

Buyers can select from three distinct strap configurations for the Voiture VM2. The brand offers vintage racing-style leather straps in black or brown, canvas straps in moss green or black, and the five-link Colin 2.2 stainless steel bracelet. The leather and canvas options pair with a stainless-steel pin-buckle, while the Colin 2.2 bracelet includes a brushed finish, a micro-adjustable clasp, and quick-release spring bars across a 20mm lug width.
