The 2025–26 NHL season is delivering a thrilling finish, with intense competition for both individual accolades and playoff positioning. Nikita Kucherov of the Tampa Bay Lightning has surged to the top of the Art Ross Trophy race, while several teams are locked in tight battles for playoff berths.

Kucherov’s Dominant Performance

Nikita Kucherov has overtaken Connor McDavid in the race for the Art Ross Trophy, becoming the first player to lead the NHL in scoring since January 24th. He recorded a two-goal, two-assist performance on Saturday, finishing the game with a two-point lead over McDavid (116 points). Kucherov has amassed 12 points in the Lightning’s first three games of their Western Conference road trip, overcoming an eight-point deficit to McDavid before the trip began on March 17th.

Playoff Picture Heats Up

The Nashville Predators have secured a playoff position for the first time since October 25th, overcoming a season-high 11-point deficit to reach the postseason.
