No. 10 FSU Softball Completes Series Sweep Over Syracuse

TALLAHASSEE – The No. 10 Florida State Seminoles softball team completed a three-game series sweep against the Syracuse Orange on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Seminole Softball Complex. FSU secured a decisive 11-6 victory, improving their record to 25-4 overall and 3-0 in ACC play, while Syracuse fell to 11-10 with an 0-3 conference record.

Dominant Offensive Performance Fuels Seminole Victory

Florida State showcased a powerful offensive display, scoring 11 runs on 10 hits. The Seminoles capitalized on multiple-run innings, including a significant six-run outburst in the first inning fueled by a grand slam from Ashtyn Danley and a two-run home run from Jaysoni Beachum. They added to their lead with a solo home run from Shelby McKenzie in the third and a four-run fifth inning.

Syracuse Mounts Late Rally, But FSU Holds On

Despite falling behind early, Syracuse battled back, scoring six runs in the top of the fourth inning to narrow the deficit to 7-6. However, Florida State’s bullpen, led by Jazzy Francik, shut down the Orange offense for the remaining innings. Francik pitched three scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and one walk to earn her first save of the season.

Key Player Performances

Several Seminoles contributed to the series sweep:

• Isa Torres: Continued her impressive hitting streak, reaching base safely in her last 18 plate appearances and going 11-for-11 in her last 11 at-bats. Torres is currently hitting an NCAA-leading .648.
• Jaysoni Beachum: Tied her career-high with five RBI, including a two-run home run in the first inning. Beachum now has 33 career home runs, ranking her No. 10 in FSU history.
• Ashtyn Danley: Hit her first career grand slam in the first inning.
• Bella Dimitrijevic: Recorded a career-high six strikeouts in 3.2 innings pitched.
• Marlee Gaskill: Earned her second win of the season.

Series Recap & Future Schedule

Florida State’s 36 runs scored across the three games against Syracuse represent their highest run total in an ACC series since scoring 40 runs against Pitt in 2024. The Seminoles have now won 32 of 36 all-time matchups against Syracuse, including 19 of 20 games played in Tallahassee.

The Seminoles will continue their homestand by hosting No. 2 Texas Tech on Wednesday, March 18, at 6 p.m. On ACC Network. FSU will then welcome Cal for a three-game series beginning on Friday, March 20, with a 6 p.m. First pitch.
