No. 8 Syracuse Lacrosse Returns Home to Face Georgetown

Syracuse Orange (7-2)
Syracuse enters the contest with a 7-2 overall record, most recently securing a 13-12 victory against Denver on Monday. The Orange’s two losses this season were against top-five opponents, Princeton and Harvard. Joey Spallina leads the team in scoring with 42 points (19 goals, 23 assists), while Michael Leo has 28 points (15 goals, 13 assists) and Finn Thomson has 24 (18 goals, 6 assists). John Mullen dominates at the faceoff dot, winning 101 of 176 attempts (.574) and collecting 61 ground balls. Defensively, Riley Figueiras leads with 13 caused turnovers and 28 ground balls. Jimmy McCool (7-2) has been the primary goalkeeper, boasting a 9.13 goals-against average and a .568 save percentage with 105 saves.
Georgetown Hoyas (3-3)
Georgetown comes into the game with a 3-3 record, following a 14-7 win over Loyola on Tuesday. Liam Connor leads the Hoyas with 33 points (27 goals, 6 assists), ranking him among the NCAA leaders in goals per game (4.50). Jake Bickel added a career-high four goals in the win against Loyola, while Rory Connor has notched a hat trick in six-straight games. Anderson Moore (3-3) has been solid in goal, posting a 10.52 goals-against average and a .533 save percentage with 72 saves.
Series History
Syracuse holds a 17-6 advantage in the all-time series against Georgetown, dating back to 1995. However, Georgetown won the last meeting between the two teams, an 18-8 victory in the first round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament. The Hoyas last won a game in the JMA Wireless Dome in 2012, with a score of 10-8. This will be the first meeting between Syracuse head coach Gary Gait and Georgetown head coach Kevin Warne.
