Nongshim expanded its global marketing footprint by showcasing its flagship Shin Ramyun brand at the Middle East Film & Comic Con (MEFCC) in Abu Dhabi and the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in Canada.
Shin Ramyun Featured at Middle East Film and Comic Con
From February 11 to 13, Nongshim operated a brand promotional booth at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) during the Middle East Film & Comic Con, as reported by the company. MEFCC stands as the region’s largest pop culture festival, drawing over 45,000 visitors who engaged with film, television, animation, gaming, and cosplay attractions.
The company’s interactive setup featured a photo zone decorated with various Shin Ramyun packages, a merchandise shop offering limited-edition items like keychains and stickers, and a 360-degree camera station. Outside the main exhibition space, a food truck served Shin Ramyun noodle dishes while large-scale cup noodle sculptures provided additional brand visibility.
Expanding the Global Lifestyle Brand Strategy
Nongshim is actively transitioning Shin Ramyun from a traditional instant noodle product into a lifestyle brand favored by international consumers. Following a recent appearance at Gamescom in Germany, the Middle East activation serves as another touchpoint for younger demographics who show high interest in Korean cultural content.

To sustain retail momentum beyond pop-up events, Nongshim announced plans to launch dedicated Shin Ramyun brand concept zones in major Middle Eastern supermarkets this October. This retail expansion aims to bridge cultural festival engagement with everyday grocery shopping across the region.
Toronto International Film Festival Community Outreach
North American audiences experienced similar brand integrations as Nongshim participated in the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) street festival along King & John Street, which began on September 10. Visitors at the street booth sampled localized menu items such as Shin Ramyun Tumba and Shin Ramyun Kimchi Stir-fry.
The booth also featured a customizable station where attendees could select specific noodles, soup bases, and toppings to build personal cup noodle variations. Nongshim confirmed that all proceeds generated from the TIFF street festival operations will be donated to a local food bank in Toronto.
