Norfolk Man’s Death Ruled Natural After State Police Investigation

Norfolk, NY – The death of a 67-year-old Norfolk man initially considered suspicious has been ruled natural, according to New York State Police. Robert G. LaBarge was found deceased at his West Main Street home on Saturday, February 14, 2026.

Initial Investigation

At approximately 9:45 p.m. On February 14th, the New York State Police were called to assist the Norfolk Police Department at a residence on West Main Street following a report of a deceased individual as reported by New York State Police. Upon arrival, officers discovered LaBarge unconscious and not breathing, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Autopsy Results

An autopsy was conducted at Glens Falls Hospital by Forensic Pathologist Dr. Michael Sikirica. The autopsy determined the cause of death to be cardiac arrhythmia due to severe emphysematous lung disease, and the manner of death was ruled natural according to reporting from NNY360.
