The 28th RiverRun International Film Festival Returns to Winston-Salem April 17–25, 2026 Winston-Salem, North Carolina will once again host the RiverRun International Film Festival, marking its 28th annual celebration of global cinema from April 17 to April 25, 2026. The festival will feature 178 film selections representing 47 countries, chosen from nearly 2,000 submissions, and will include screenings across multiple venues in Winston-Salem, and Greensboro. The 2026 edition continues the festival’s tradition of showcasing diverse voices and stories, with programming that spans documentaries, narratives, shorts, family-friendly films, and international features. Among the selections are 17 world premieres and 14 U.S. Premieres, highlighting the festival’s role in launching recent cinematic work. Screenings will grab place at venues including a/perture Cinema, the Hanesbrands, Mountcastle Forum and Reynolds Place Theatres at the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts, Kilpatrick Theatre, Marketplace Cinemas, and the Main, Gold, and Babcock Theatres at the UNCSA Ace Theatre Complex in Winston-Salem. Additional screenings will be held at the Carolina Theatre of Greensboro. Festival passes are available for purchase through the official RiverRun website, with individual tickets going on sale starting March 20, 2026. The event is expected to draw over 10,000 attendees across its nine-day run. As one of North Carolina’s premier cultural events, the RiverRun International Film Festival continues to strengthen the state’s growing reputation as a hub for film production and cinematic arts, bringing together audiences, filmmakers, and industry professionals for a shared celebration of storytelling.
