Nothing Phone 4a: What to Expect from the Upcoming Mid-Range Smartphone

Barcelona – Nothing generated significant buzz at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, showcasing its forthcoming Nothing Phone 4a, the fourth iteration of its mid-range smartphone series. The official unveiling is scheduled for March 5th in London, with PCMag reporting live from the event.

Design and Color Options

The Nothing Phone 4a continues the company’s distinctive design language, featuring an exposed industrial aesthetic with visible components on the rear panel. The phone will be available in four colorways: black, white, pink and blue. Images from MWC reveal the latest color options.

Specifications and Performance

While details remain limited, the Nothing Phone 4a is anticipated to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor. Android Headlines reports the device will likely include 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The phone is also expected to feature a 120Hz OLED display and a battery capacity exceeding 5100mAh, with 50W wired charging capabilities.

Glyph UI and Potential Changes

It remains unclear whether the Phone 4a will incorporate Nothing’s signature Glyph UI, which utilizes a series of light patterns on the rear panel for notifications. Units displayed at MWC did not appear to have these lights, though their presence at launch hasn’t been ruled out.

Availability and Pricing

Nothing has previously sold its “a” series devices in the US through its developer beta program. The Phone 3a and Phone 3a Pro have been available for approximately a year. However, reports indicate that component costs, particularly for RAM and NAND, have risen due to increased demand from the AI sector, suggesting a price increase for the Phone 4a series.

The Phone 4a Pro

Alongside the standard Phone 4a, Nothing is also expected to unveil a Pro version. Pocket Tactics suggests the Phone 4a Pro may feature a slightly larger 5,080 mAh battery and the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 7(s) chipset as the standard model, alongside 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The Phone 4a Pro was not on display at MWC.

The full specifications and pricing for both the Nothing Phone 4a and Phone 4a Pro will be revealed at the launch event on March 5th in London.
