Ohio Bobcats Add Wittenberg Transfer Mikey Schutte to Men’s Golf Roster
ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio University Bobcats men’s golf team has added Wittenberg University transfer Mikey Schutte, head coach Brennan Whitis announced Wednesday, March 18, 2026. Schutte will join the team as a junior for the upcoming season.
Schutte’s Background and Achievements
Schutte joins the Bobcats after competing at the Division III level with Wittenberg University. During his time with the Tigers, he recorded eight career top-20 finishes and holds the Wittenberg school record for the lowest 18-hole score in competition, carding a 64. He was a Jef Roope Invitational champion in October, and finished inside the top three three times this season.
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Schutte is an Elder High School graduate.
Coach Whitis’ Connection to Wittenberg
Interestingly, Ohio head coach Brennan Whitis is a Wittenberg alumnus himself. He competed for the Tigers from 2014-2018, and was a member of their 2016-17 NCAA Division III National Championship-winning team. Whitis also served as team captain during the 2017-18 season. Ohio University Athletics
