Repeat Sex Offender Arrested After Alleged Assault at South Lebanon Five Below

South Lebanon, OH – Robert Kevin DeWeese, 37, of Union Township, has been charged with multiple counts of sexual assault following an incident at a Five Below store in Warren County, Ohio. The arrest occurred just three days after DeWeese’s release from prison, raising concerns about the monitoring of repeat offenders.

Details of the Alleged Incident

On February 6, 2026, authorities responded to a report of a sexual assault at the Five Below located on Corwin Nixon Boulevard in South Lebanon. According to prosecutors, DeWeese allegedly sexually assaulted a 6-year-old girl inside a store bathroom WKRC, WLWT.

The child’s mother had briefly left the bathroom to purchase new pants for her daughter, instructing her to remain inside with the door locked and to recognize a specific knock for her return. Prosecutors allege that DeWeese overheard this instruction and mimicked the knock to gain access to the bathroom WLWT.

The girl reportedly used a self-defense technique, referred to as the “Lion’s Roar,” which she learned at Scouts, to fight back, alerting others to the assault WLWT.

Previous Convictions and Charges

Robert DeWeese has a history of prior convictions for sexual offenses. Court records indicate he was previously convicted of molesting a child in Fairfield County in 2021 and gross sexual imposition in Clermont County in 2007 WKRC.

He is currently facing charges of rape, gross sexual imposition, kidnapping, and abduction, with the charges including a sexually violent predator specification WKRC.

DeWeese is currently held in the Warren County Jail on a $702,500 cash-only bond and is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday WKRC.
