Austin Simmons’ time with Mississippi football appears to be over after two seasons.

According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, the Ole Miss backup quarterback is expected to enter his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal with a no-contact tag.

Simmons is expected to transfer within the SEC and land at Missouri, per Thamel.

Simmons, a former four-star recruit, played sparingly during his time with the Rebels. He completed 4 of 7 passes for 49 yards and one touchdown in limited action this season. He was ranked as the No. 21 quarterback in the 2024 recruiting class.

The transfer portal opens on December 4th and closes on January 30th, giving simmons time to explore his options and find a program where he can compete for playing time.
