Noah Beck and the Arizona Teacher Scandal: What We Recognize About the Centennial High School Case

In April 2026, a scandal involving two former teachers at Centennial High School in Peoria, Arizona, resurfaced in public discourse after police resubmitted the case to prosecutors for potential criminal charges. The allegations center on claims of grooming and sexual misconduct involving a teenage student and two women who worked at the school: Haley Beck, 27 and Angela Burlaka, 47.

According to a nearly 200-page police report, rumors of inappropriate relationships had circulated at the school for months before an investigation was launched in July 2025. The investigation began after the student’s grandmother discovered explicit videos on his phone, which allegedly showed Burlaka naked and saying the student’s name. Shortly after, claims emerged involving Haley Beck, who was identified as the student’s psychology and sociology teacher during his sophomore and junior years.

District officials stated that Haley Beck began grooming the student before he turned 18 in December 2024. Investigators allege she provided special treatment in class, completed his homework, inflated his grades and attendance records, allowed him to use her car, bought him gifts including alcohol and drugs, and paid him more than $600. In one message, she reportedly referred to herself as his “sugar momma.”

Angela Burlaka, who had worked at Centennial High School for 25 years, resigned after allegations surfaced that she recorded nude videos of herself involving the student. Haley Beck was fired following an internal district investigation that found she had groomed the student and later engaged in a sexual relationship with him.

Both women were placed on administrative depart in August 2025. One resigned, and the other was terminated by the school board. As of April 2026, no arrests have been made, but detectives told local media they believe there is sufficient evidence to support criminal charges. The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office had previously returned the case to law enforcement for additional investigation before its resubmission.

The case has drawn attention not only for the alleged misconduct but also for the institutional response. Critics have questioned how long the rumors persisted before action was taken and whether warning signs were ignored. The overlapping involvement of the same student in both allegations has intensified scrutiny of the school district’s handling of the matter.

As of the latest updates, the case remains under review by prosecutors, who will determine whether to file formal charges based on the evidence gathered during the investigation.
