ORT University Awards Charlotte de Grünberg Scholarship

ORT University has awarded the Beca Charlotte de Grünberg, an initiative recognizing academic excellence and student motivation of 3rd year Higher Secondary Education students nationwide, to support their transition into university education in 2026.

The ceremony, held on December 18th, honored four finalist students selected through a comprehensive process evaluating written tests, academic performance, socioeconomic context, and personal motivation.

In this edition, Yazmin Vidal, from Colonia del Sacramento, was chosen as the scholarship recipient.This recognition grants her full tuition exemption for the architecture career at the ORT faculty of Architecture and monthly financial support of $30,000 (Uruguayan pesos).

ORT Uruguay University Awards Scholarships to Promising Students

ORT Uruguay University has awarded scholarships to four outstanding students, recognizing their academic achievements and potential. Yazmín Vidal received the Charlotte de Grünberg Scholarship, while María Elena Mieres, Sebastián Geribone, and bautista Cobas were awarded 80% scholarships.

The Charlotte de Grünberg scholarship is a prestigious award given by the university. Vidal, Mieres, Geribone, and Cobas were selected from a pool of applicants through a rigorous process that included a written exam based on the book The Girl Who watched the Trains Depart by Ruperto Long, as well as an evaluation of their academic records and motivation letters.

The selection committee comprised prominent figures in education and technology, including Dr. María Julia Muñoz, former Minister of Education and Culture and Public Health; Dr. Denise Vaillant,dean of the Institute of Education at ORT Uruguay University; Prof. Gabriel quirici, national director of Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture; engineer Miguel Brechner, founder of Plan Ceibal; and Eng. ruperto Long,the author of the featured literary work.

ORT Uruguay University states that this initiative underscores its commitment to supporting talented young people and fostering academic excellence through merit and dedication.
