Burglary at DJ Alan Walker’s Oslo Home. Suspect Apprehended

Oslo, Norway – A man in his 40s was arrested Wednesday morning in connection with a burglary at the Oslo home of internationally renowned DJ Alan Walker. Valuable computer equipment and data storage devices were reportedly stolen during the incident.

Police were alerted to the break-in at approximately 06:45 local time by cleaning staff arriving at Walker’s villa in the Frogner district, according to Nettavisen and NRK. The suspect was apprehended at a nearby address around 10:15, approximately 3.5 hours after the initial report.

Stolen Equipment Crucial to Walker’s Work

According to Gunnar Greve, Alan Walker’s manager, the stolen items included essential computer equipment, memory chips, and RAM cards. “They are absolutely essential to being able to do our job,” Greve told Bergensavisen. The villa houses both a studio and office space for the artist.

Greve indicated that the burglar was interrupted by the cleaning staff, who arrived while the suspect was still on the premises. He stated that the quick arrival of the cleaning crew prevented the theft of additional items. The suspect was reportedly wearing an Alan Walker jacket and carrying a bag with the artist’s logo, as well as an Ikea bag, when he was captured on camera, according to Vart Oslo.

Police Investigation and Recovery of Stolen Goods

“We have found some of the stolen goods, but probably not all,” stated Operations Manager Rune Hekkelstrand of the Oslo Police District, as reported by Sweden Herald. “We are therefore continuing the investigation with the aim of locating more of what was stolen.”

Hekkelstrand added that the police investigation involved “fine, old-fashioned police work.”

Walker’s Oslo Residence

Alan Walker and Gunnar Greve purchased the property in Josefine gate for over 35 million Norwegian kroner in 2021, according to VG. The 679-square-meter villa, built in 1874, is located in the Homansbyen neighborhood and is registered as a protected historical building.
