Over Easy Pledges $500,000 to Phoenix Children’s, Naming “Makers Corner” in The Zone

Phoenix Children’s Hospital has received a $500,000 pledge from local restaurant chain Over Easy, which will be distributed over the next four years. The donation was celebrated with the official naming of the “Makers Corner” within The Zone, a therapeutic space designed for young patients.

The Child Life Zone: A Healing Environment

The Child Life Zone, located on the first floor of the hospital’s East Building, provides a procedure-free environment where children can play, create, and connect with others. It’s often referred to as “the happiest place” on the Thomas Campus, fostering healing through creativity and connection .

Over Easy’s Commitment to Pediatric Care

“We are incredibly thankful to Over Easy for its generosity and commitment to Arizona’s children,” said Steve Schnall, Phoenix Children’s Foundation’s senior vice president and chief development officer . “This support will help fuel transformative care and make a lasting difference in the lives of countless patients.”

Supporting Child Life and Therapeutic Arts Programs

The $500,000 pledge will directly benefit Phoenix Children’s Child Life and Therapeutic Arts Programs. These programs are designed to help patients and their families cope with the emotional challenges of hospitalization, fear, and anxiety .

Additional Over Easy Initiatives

Beyond the pledge, Over Easy supports Phoenix Children’s through several ongoing initiatives:

• Kids Helping Kids: A portion of the proceeds from every kids’ menu item sold at all 19 Arizona locations is donated to Phoenix Children’s .
• Dollars for a Dozen: Each April, Over Easy matches donations of $1 or more, with Hickman’s Family Farms and Shamrock Farms contributing dozens of eggs to the United Food Bank .
