Paramount+ New Releases: What to Watch in Early March 2026

Early March offers a fresh wave of content on Paramount+, providing ample entertainment options. From space adventures to sci-fi thrillers and darkly comedic dramas, here’s a look at three standout movies available on the streaming service between March 2nd and 8th, 2026.

1. Star Trek: Beyond

The third installment in the Kelvin Timeline Star Trek franchise—following Star Trek (2009) and Into Darkness (2013)—Star Trek Beyond marks a shift as the first film not directed by J.J. Abrams, who transitioned to a producer role while directing Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Often considered the most “classic Trek” of the rebooted series, Beyond sees Captain Kirk (Chris Pine), Spock (Zachary Quinto), Bones (Karl Urban), and the crew of the Enterprise stranded on an alien planet after their ship is destroyed. The film features Idris Elba as Krall, an alien leader intent on destroying the Federation with a powerful weapon. Sofia Boutella delivers a standout performance as Jaylah, a scavenger-warrior. Co-written by Simon Pegg (who also plays Scotty) and directed by Justin Lin, Star Trek Beyond currently holds an 86% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

2. Minority Report

Based on a 1956 short story by Philip K. Dick, Minority Report is a cyberpunk thriller directed by Steven Spielberg. Set in a near-future Washington, D.C., the film explores the concept of “PreCrime,” a unit that prevents murders before they happen using three clairvoyants, known as “precogs.” Tom Cruise stars as John Anderton, the unit’s top officer, who becomes the target of the system when it predicts he will commit a murder. The film raises questions about free will and fate, and is notable for its depiction of futuristic technology like gesture-controlled interfaces and autonomous vehicles. Minority Report maintains an impressive 89% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

3. The Banshees of Inisherin

The Banshees of Inisherin, released in 2022, is a darkly comedic drama that garnered critical acclaim, winning numerous awards including Oscars, BAFTAs, and Golden Globes. The film centers on the abrupt end of a lifelong friendship between Pádraic (Colin Farrell) and Colm (Brendan Gleeson) on a remote Irish island in 1923. Colm, facing his own mortality, decides he no longer wants to waste time with Pádraic, threatening to cut off a finger each time Pádraic speaks to him. This brutal break-up sends Pádraic into a spiral, impacting those around him. Directed by Martin McDonagh (also of In Bruges), the 96%-rated film features strong performances from Farrell, Gleeson, Kerry Condon, and Barry Keoghan, exploring themes of loneliness, rejection, and stubbornness.
