Actress Park Se-young publicly expressed her grief and remembrance on the first anniversary of her mother, actress Kang Myung-joo’s, passing. Kang Myung-joo died on February 27, 2024, after a battle with cancer at the age of 54.

Kang Myung-joo began her career in 1992 with the Experimental Theater Company’s play Kuni, Nara, and remained active in theater for many years, appearing in productions such as Hamlet for 9 Days, Blood and Seeds, and Coriolanus.
