French singer and actor Patrick Bruel is facing three new legal complaints involving allegations of rape and sexual assault, according to reporting by Mediapart and confirmation from legal counsel to Agence France-Presse (AFP). These developments follow his existing status as a person under investigation in four separate legal cases.
Details of the New Allegations
Attorneys Corinne Herrmann and Benjamin Chouai filed the three new complaints between June 25 and July 1, 2025, with the senior investigating judge in Nanterre.
* 2014 Allegation: One complainant alleges she was raped by the actor in 2014 during an international poker event. According to the report, she claims Bruel instructed her to remain silent regarding the encounter.
* 2000s Allegations: A second complainant, who identified herself as a former fan, alleges she was raped and subjected to an attempted rape by Bruel during the 2000s after meeting him through his concert tours. She asserts she explicitly refused the encounter.
* 1992 Allegation: A third complainant alleges she was sexually assaulted by Bruel in September 1992 while working as a volunteer at the US Open in New York. The complainant, who was 15 at the time, stated that she felt it was necessary to come forward following the public testimony of television host Flavie Flament.
In May 2025, Flament announced she had filed a complaint against Bruel, alleging she was raped by the artist in 1991 when she was 16 years old.
Current Legal Status

Patrick Bruel has been under formal investigation—a status known in the French legal system as *mis en examen*—since June 2025 regarding four distinct cases. These include:
* An alleged rape in Neuilly-sur-Seine in 2008.
* An alleged attempted rape in Brussels in 2010.
* An alleged sexual assault and sexual harassment case in Perpignan in 2019.
* An alleged sexual harassment case in Ajaccio in 2019.
Additionally, Bruel maintains the status of “assisted witness” in four other separate dossiers. Regarding a separate case involving an alleged rape in Grenoble in 2000, investigating judges previously dismissed the matter due to the statute of limitations. Attorney Corinne Herrmann has filed an appeal to contest that ruling.
Defense Response
Legal representatives for Patrick Bruel—Fanny Colin, Céline Lasek, and Christophe Ingrain—stated in response to inquiries from the AFP that the singer intends to address the accusations only within the appropriate legal framework.
“The only authority capable of establishing the facts in a case constantly polluted by media noise is the judicial authority,” the defense team said in a statement. They characterized the new accusations as “false,” maintaining that the artist will respond to them if and when the judiciary formally addresses the claims.
