Patty Brard & Ranking the Stars: Viewer Outrage & Mass Zap

Dutch TV-watchers are responding en masse to Patty Brard’s call to zap away if they don’t like Ranking the Stars. They do that en masse. “This is ratings horror.”

Patty Brard is completely upset because the celebrity program she is participating in, the current series of the Paul de Leeuw show Ranking the Stars, is being completely criticized in the media. One of the critics, painfully enough, is TV authority Tina Nijkamp, with whom she had a good relationship – at least in the past.

Away zappers

The fierce criticism caused Patty, just before the weekend, to make a very angry call not to watch Ranking the Stars if you don’t like it, and well, that was responded to en masse. The second episode of the new season was viewed dramatically poorly on RTL 4 last night.

TV authority Tina Nijkamp cannot believe her eyes. “Audience horror like we haven’t seen on Dutch TV for a long time,” she writes analysis channel. “It is for Paul de Leeuw and Ranking the Stars. Because the viewer completely ignored this wrung-out TV show in episode two.”

269 thousand

Ranking the Stars started last week with 510 thousand linear viewers and last night only 269 thousand remained. “Good for a 12.1 percent market share in the commercial target group 25 to 54 years old. Place 34. How bad is this score?”

Well, very bad, according to Tina. “Ranking the Stars started poorly last week with 510 thousand viewers, but now only half of that. This low score is more than justified.”

Sjorleone

Tina has no sympathy for those involved. “Yesterday’s fragment in which Sjorleone explains his toilet behavior is already one of the saddest TV moments of 2026. What is RTL 4 doing about this? Terribly bad TV, including the no less than 15 minutes (!!!) long candidate introduction.”

She concludes: “What do you mean Peter van der Vorst let this be on TV? What a blunder.”
