The production specifically staged the moment the real John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr returned to their hometown at the height of Beatlemania. According to JustJared, huge crowds lined the streets for the occasion, mirroring the original civic reception where the musicians greeted fans from the town hall balcony before attending the northern premiere of their feature film A Hard Day’s Night at the Odeon Cinema. In the new films, Paul Mescal portrays Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson plays John Lennon, Joseph Quinn takes on the role of George Harrison, and Barry Keoghan portrays Ringo Starr. The actors sported matching suits and early-era hairstyles during the Liverpool shoot, following a previous sighting last month where the group recreated the iconic Abbey Road album cover, as reported by Variety.
Structure of the Four-Film Project
The ambitious project marks the first time The Beatles and Apple have granted full life-story and music rights for scripted theatrical movies about the band. According to Variety, each film in the series will focus on the perspective of a different band member.
