Crimson Desert Set to Launch on March 19th, 2026

Pearl Abyss’ highly anticipated open-world action-adventure game, Crimson Desert, is scheduled to release on March 19, 2026, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The release date was revealed during PlayStation’s State of Play event. Recent gameplay footage has been released showcasing the game running on a base PlayStation 5 console, addressing concerns about performance on current-generation hardware.

What is Crimson Desert?

Crimson Desert is an ambitious open-world adventure featuring deep combat, multiple playable characters, and a vast world filled with quests, NPCs, and locations to explore. Players will take on the role of the Greymane Kliff, embarking on a journey to rebuild the Greymane faction and protect the continent of Pywel from an impending threat. The game world encompasses wilderness areas, cities, ruins, and the mysterious Abyss.

Gameplay on Base PS5

Developer Pearl Abyss has responded to fan concerns regarding performance by releasing gameplay footage of Crimson Desert running on a standard PlayStation 5. This footage demonstrates surprisingly strong performance, alleviating fears that the game would struggle on the base console. The showcased gameplay includes both high-density town sections and intense combat scenarios. Further gameplay footage will be released on YouTube starting March 18th.

Crimson Desert will be available in Standard and Deluxe Editions. Pre-ordering either edition includes the Khaled Shield bonus. The Deluxe Edition also includes the Kairos Plate Set, Balgran Shield, and Exclaire Horse Tack Set.
